Excellent.

Breakfast variety was great. The lady at the front desk (Suzan) was absolutely great. All the staff were very friendly and especially in the breakfast hall.

When there are a lot of people we had to wait for long periods to get the lift especially on the higher floors because every time the lift arrives it is full of people.

Comfortable stay in a friendly modern hotel

Modern hotel with very friendly and helpful staff specially the client relationship manager Hary and Suzan at the front desk. Comfortable beds. Fancy toilet.

Food and drinks at the lounge are quite basic. Fridge in the room was not working. Free minibar but no sodas. “Rain shower” was more of a drizzle.

Very comfortable beds, huge variety at breakfast, friendly staff.

Friendly and helpful check-in, staff spoke English well, amazing breakfast, extremely comfortable beds, late spa hours.

Massage was good but could be more professional. One of the ladies seemed new and was talking to the other lady a lot during the massage and didn’t know exactly what to do. My 90 minute massage ended at least 10 minutes earlier than my husband’s for some reason and the lady disappeared for a long time to get us some ginger tea. Room was also quite chilly so we asked then to make it warmer. Needs a bit of refinement, but was still very enjoyable and relaxing overall as we had been through a very stressful day. We were really happy it was open late and they could take us right away.

Great rooms and service from the staff, extra large king size bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the cushions were super lux.

Food for room service was a little lack lustre for the price.

Unacceptable experience in a high class hotel

Check in was very fast, room was available 3 hours prior regular check in time without charge.

On the carpet in our room was a very big dirty and smelly spot, looked like coffee or something else. We asked the staff toplesse clean it as it was huge, smelly and not acceptable. During our 5 day stay, the are not able to clean this up. In addition we continuously we had to ask the staff to remove the dirty towels as thy always let them lay on the chairs or floor. Also, we had every day just one set of towels in our room, no body recognize we are a couple and both of us need a towel. On 2 days we need to wait 10 minutes to get a seat in the breakfast area. Same happened to our friends traveling with us. We really need to call on a daily base to the reception and call the housekeeping due to a lot of complaints. The lobby bar is nice but often it was not possible to get a seat, as many people just sitting there and smoking without ordering drinks or foods. The Hotel Spa staff offering extra services during massage for 1 Million IDR ... this offer was really surprising in a high class hotel in a Muslim country. A day before we leave, they offered us to change the room, why not immediately ? The Manager promised a upgrade on next stay when I mentioned to write a review at booking.com . Things like this are not acceptable for a 4 or even 5 star hotel with high class standard. We had another reservation which we cancelled now due to the above. We made in the past always good experiences here but looks like something changed and this was definitely our last staff at the Vasa Hotel SURABAYA. There are too many nice high class hotels for similar prices to accept things like this.

A relaxing week end with delicious meals

We choose to upgrade our booking to Suite upon check in and it was a good idea . The Suite is lovely and comfortable, plus you get the possibility to join the Executive Lounge for evening cocktails or a quiet breakfast !

The room was clean, beds were comfortable and it had a beautiful bathroom. The pool was lovely and you forgot you were on a busy road. Breakfast was excellent!

We were travelling for leisure and it felt a little corporate, staff were very efficient but not always as friendly as at other hotels. Not very much in the surrounding area.

Very good hotel. I was upgraded to an apartment. Brazilian restaurant is outstanding, including the bar where Steven takes care of you preparing great drinks. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is excellent.

Dissapointed

I like the bed, linen and I love the shower. The room was quite comfortable that was why we choosed to stay here again after our stay before.

I checked in at 10 p.m with my very sleepy 3 yo while his father parked our car. But it took so long for us to get the room and my son almost slept on the chair in front of the check in desk. The receptionist told me he didn't know if our room already paid or not so he need to check with other staff first. I put my credit card and id on the table from the first to make it faster and even showed him my phone with the booking number twice but he still wasn't sure what to do and we need to wait. But after all checked he said our room wasn't ready yet so we have to wait again and when I asked for how long he didn't answer. All rooms supposed to be ready after 2 p.m when we supposed to be allowed to check in. If we wanted to check in at 1 p.m they will asked us to wait until 2 p.m but when we checked in at 10 p.m, we still have to wait for them to clean the room?? The fact that my little boy was very sleepy and the staff just ignore us was made me upset. And when we finally got our room, there were no slippers and I tried called them 4 times and always no answer or busy. Just got answer after a long wait on my 5th call. It was a short stay, we were checking out the next day at 6.30 a.m and I choosed Vasa because we stayed here twice before and it was comfortable enough so I just hope to have a short rest here but was dissapointed.

I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends

Overall, It was a very great stay. Great location, room was very clean and the king bed was huge and comfortable! smooth check in and check out process.

Staff weren't very attentive, security check wasn't very thorough. In-room dining took 40 minutes to deliver a bottle opener and a bucket of ice to the room. No one helped us with our luggage during check out transfer.

Always a pleasant stay at Vasa Hotel.

Hotel is new so everything inside feels like a brand new car. Room design is modern i've stayed here a couple time before and brought my friends here. Breakfast is nice.

The elevator is slow when crowded. Often you gotta wait for the next one.

Sometimes traffic is very busy and crowded access entry or exit hotel. Difficult manufer in car park area if used a large car.
